We had a wonderful time at the Gutelius House for the Reading of the Declaration of Independence!

It was heart-warming to me to see our young people taking time to look back at our history and remember our humble origins!

And THANK YOU to M&T Bank for sponsoring this important and fun event!

A spectacular celebration! From the Annual 5K Race right through the fireworks!

We had a great turnout for the Annual Pet Parade as you can see in the photo below!

I was honored to ride in the Union County Veterans Parade and represent Mifflinburg! The streets were packed and TONS of Mifflinburgers made the trip to the parade in Lewisburg. Thank You all for a great turnout! And Thank You to Michelle for organizing such a wonderful event!

Mifflinburg Safety Fair

Hats off to Mifflinburg Police Officer Ross Mitchell for putting together an amazing Safety Fair! The event was in the Mifflinburg Park and Pool and we served up over 600 hot dogs and over 300 Rita's Italian Ices!! I spent some time in the Dunk Tank and offered up $50 to anyone who could dunk me three consecutive throws in a row. A fool and his money were soon parted as I gave the $50 to a 9 year old who sunk me on his first three throws!! Dunk Tank proceeds went to the Mike Hobbins Recovery Fund...we raised $236.00 for that great cause.

And we had about 150 people take advantage of the free swimming in the Mifflinburg Pool!

Our mission for this event was to introduce Mifflinburg residents to all those who quietly keep them safe on a day-to-day basis.

We processed about 100 Child ID Kits that included the child's fingerprints and a DNA sample.

Leckey Live at the Tri, Tri Again Triathlon

Ryan Leckey from WNEP Channel 16 came to Central PA for his morning show to feature the Tri, Tri Again Triathlon event! We arrived and started to get rolling before 5am! I was fortunate to be able to say some nice things about Mifflinburg and our area to 500,000 viewers across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania!

This event kicks off our Summer Reading Program which this year has the theme of "Make a Splash at Your Library."
I read a proclamation and had a wonderful time at the event!

D.A.R.E. Graduation

I was honored to say a few words at the DARE Graduation. The DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program is conducted in our Mifflinburg Intermediate School by Chief Bickhart and Officer Hubler. We get great support from the school staff for this important program. The program teaches students how to resist using drugs when they are offered! The students did a great job!!

Get Moving Mifflinburg...Mifflinburg Health and Wellness Day

In conjunction with Evangelical Community Hospital I planned a community Health and Wellness Day. There were health care professionals on hand to answer questions and a bike rodeo and a family obstacle course. The Mifflinburg High School Coaches Association had a food stand with lots of healthy lunch choices.

Arbor Day

I had the pleasure of Proclaiming Arbor Day in Mifflinburg. Mifflinburg is an official Tree City USA! Thanks to Juergen Seefeldt, our Shade Tree Commission and the Mifflinburg Area School District Agriculture students for keeping Mifflinburg green!

NIMS Training

I attended the NIMS Training (National Incident Management System) Training at the Union County Emergency Center in Lewisburg. This training prepares community leaders and safety personnel to manage various crises and situations which can arise in times of emergency. A VERY good course with a certification exam afterward! That nervous pre-test feeling took me back to my school days!!

It was also very interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes at the 911 Call Center. It was amazing to see the efficiency and professionalism of the 911 Call Center Operators.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410 and the Mifflinburg Moose co-sponsored the Egg Hunt at the VFW Carnival Grounds. We had a HUGE crowd of children to hunt for eggs! Among the eggs there was a Mayor's Egg in each of the four age divisions which was good for a $25 Savings Account donated by each of our four local banks: Mifflinburg Bank and Trust, M & T Bank, Swineford National Bank and West Milton State Bank.

Meet the Mayor

I hosted a Meet the Mayor event at the Mifflinburg Bank and Trust Company's new Community Room. Lots of Mifflinburgers
attended with questions about the Borough and I got some great feedback as well.

Elected Officials Training Seminar

Mifflinburg Borough Councilman Ben Dietrich and I attended the two-day Elected Officials Training in Williamsport. It was a nice opportunity to meet other local elected officials and to hear about how things are done in their respective boroughs and townships.

Story Time with the Mayor

I got to read "Bark George!" by Jules Feiffer as part of the Herr Memorial Library's Discover Program.
The youngsters and Herr Library Staff were great to work with!
